Zara Dair Mein Ufaq Pe

Yeh haseen shaam apni
Abhi jis mein ghul rahi hai
Tere pairahan ki khushbu
Abhi jis mein khil rahe hain
Mere khwaab ke shagoofay
Zara dair ka hai manzar…
Zara dair mein ufaq pe
Khilayga koi sitaara
Teri simt dekh kar woh
Karayga koi ishaara,
Tere dil ko aayega phir
Kisi yaad ka bulaawa,
Koi qissa-e-judai
Koi kaar-e-naa-mukammal
Koi khwaab-e-naashagufta…
Koi baat kehne wali,
Humein chahiye tha milna
Kisi ehd-e-meherbaan mein
Kisi khwaab ke yaqeen mein,
Kisi aur aasmaan per
Kisi aur sarzameen mein
Humein chahiye tha milna…

Jab koi duusra nahin hota...

Asar uss ko zarra nahin hota
Ranj raahat fazaa nahin hota
Tum hamaray kisi tarah na huwe
Warna duniya mein kya nahin hota
Naarasaaii se dam rukay tou rukay
Mein kisi se Khafa nahin hota
Tum meray paas hotay ho goya
Jab koi duusra nahin hota
Haal-e-dil yaar ko likhouN kion ker
Haath dil se judaa nahin hota
Kion sunnay arz-e-muztarib ae Momin
Sanam aaKhir Khudaa nahin hota

Itni jagah kahan hai....

Lagta nahin hai ji mera ujrray dyaar mein
Kis ki bani hai aalam-e-napa'edaar mein

Bulbul ko paasbaan se na siyaad se gila
Kismat mein qaid thi likhi fasl-e-bahaar mein

Keh dou yeh hasratoun se kaheen aur ja basain
Itni jagah kahan hai dil-e-daaghdaar mein

Wafa karoge, wafa karainge
Jafa karoge, jafa karainge
Hum aadmi hain tumhare jaise
Jo tum karoge, woh hum karainge...

P.S. I don't know whose ruba'ii is this. But, it was narrated by my Sr. Manager only yesterday during his 'lecture' to us trainees.

And she will be loved...

Behis'si thi ke mere zabt ka andaaz tha yeh
Muztarib tha bhi agar, mein kabhi barham tou na tha

I wish I could've said this sher  for myself but well, that's way out of question. In my case, barhami depends exponentially on the iztiraab. This couplet, nevertheless, opened a new door for me. Not a door that unveils the secrets of the lost city of Atlantis or some X-files from A-51 or the location of Holy Grail, for that matter. No. Nothing as such. What lies behind this door is a fact that's so obvious that it never grasped my attention, until now.

Anyhow, yesterday S. was listening to Maroon 5's "She will be loved". (Hayye. I've always loved this song) I was lying beside her in ami's room and, something struck me about this song for the first time. I suddenly wished to find someone who'd catch me every time I fall. Yes, every time. I wished that every time I fall, someone would shake his/her head in disapproval and yet, reach out for my hand and pick me up. I won't mind a little scolding either. *insert a wide and a very dheet smile here* I'll persist on falling, though.

I don't want to change. I know I am not good. I am so so so bad. I know. People have said this to me enough times to make me believe this. Which again, by the way, brings me to this empty wrapper of Dove's Promises that is lying in front of me. I have no idea which of the two monsters ate it and left the wrapper here but had I been superstitious I would have taken this as an omen of some kind. *smiles* You want to know what the message on its inside says? It says, Never let others' opinion change the way you feel about yourself. Uhh...But it's a little too late already. I have changed a lot; for the ones I love. However, somehow I'm still work-in-progress.

Umm... I have a lot to say. The rants don't end here. Oh no, they don't! *chuckles*

Aye Mariz-e-Dana'ee...

Jaanta hon mein tum ko zauq-e-shayari bhi hai
Shakhsiyat sajanay mein ek yeh mahiri bhi hai
Phir bhi harf chuntay ho, sirf lafz suntay ho
Inn ke darmiyan kya hai, tum na jaan pa'ogay...

It's about time you started reading between the lines, my friend. It's about time.

Mere humdum, mere dost...

I was all pepped up to come up with a "happy" post but I am afraid it doesn't seem likely anymore. Oh and by the way, I shall tell you something. It is a lot easier to write up a somber, gloomy, bitter or a stingy post. It is very hard to come up with a post that is happy and a fair piece of writing simultaneously- at least for me it is. Even when I am not sad I can write fair expressions that howl melancholy. The reason being that for some reason sadness appeals me. I find it attractive- beautiful, in fact. This does not mean in any way at all that I like being sad. No, I merely said that for some inexplicable reason I feel drawn towards sad things. Where as happiness, is sort of elusive and a little eccentric as well. *smiles*

Anyways, this is a nazm by Faiz Ahmed Faiz that I first read when I was pretty young and even though I could hardly understand it, I fell in love with it.

Gar mujhey is ka Yaqee'n ho, mere Humdum, mere Dost
Gar mujhey is ka Yaqee'n ho keh tere Dil ki thakan
Teri Aankho'n ki udaasi, Tere seene ki Jalan
Meri Dil'joi...... mere pyar se mit jaye gi

Gar mera Harf-e-Tassalli woh Dawa ho jis se
Jee uthey phir tera Ujra howa Baynoor Dima'gh
Teri Peshani se Dhul jain yeh Tazleel ke Daa'gh
Teri Beemar Jawani ko shifa ho jaye

Gar mujhey is ka Yaqee'n ho, mery Humdam mery Dost...!

Roz-o-shab, sham-o-sehar main tujhey Behlata Rahoo'n
Main tujhey Geet sunata Rahoo'n... halkey... shiree'n
Aabsharo'n ke... Baharoo'n ke... Chaman zaro'n ke Geet
Aamd-e-subh ke... mehtaab ke... sayyaro'n ke Geet
Tujh se main husn-o-muhabbat ki Hiqayaat kahooN
Kaisey maghroor haseenao'n key Barfaab se Jism
Garm hatho'n ki Hararat se Pighal jatey hen
Kaisey ik chehrey key thehrey hoye manoos Naqoosh ,
Dekhtey Dekhtey yaklakht Badal jatey hain
Kis tarah Aarz-e-mehboob ka shaffaf Belou'r
Yak-ba-Yak Bada-e-Ahmar se Dehhak jatay hain
Kaisey Gulchee'n key liye jhukti hai khud Shakh-e-Gulab
Kis tarah Raat ka Ewaan mehak jata hai

Yuunhi Gata raho'n, Gaata raho'n teri khatir
Geet Bunta raho'n, Betha raho'n teri khatir

Per mere Geet, Tere Dukh ka mudawa hee nahi
Naghma Jarrah nahi, Moonis-o-Ghamkhaar sahi
Geet Nashtar to nahi, Marham-e-Aazaar sahi

Tery Aazaar ka Chara nahi, nashtar key Siwa
Aur yeh Saffak maseeha mery Qabzey me nahi
Is Jaha'n key kisi Zeeruuh key Qabzey me nahi

Haan magar...
Tery Siwa, Tery Siwa, Tery Siwa...!!

Aur Bhi Gham Hain Zamaane Mein Muhabbat Ke Siwa

The title of the last post makes me sound like a lovesick person. Funny. Yes, I was sad. But 'love and similar disasters' were not the one to blame. There were 'other' reasons behind that. I can assure you. Precisely, none of my posts that are dripping with despair hold love as their culprit. Being lovesick is out of my league. I do not really believe in 'love as in love'. What I mean is, love is not a ground reality, so as to speak. Love is.... It is surreal. Pure fiction. Therefore, I do not really believe in love. Not my thing, eh.

I love what Faiz Ahmed Faiz sahib says. It is beautifully cruel.

Laut jaati hai idhar ko bhi nazar kyaa kije
Ab bhi dilakash hai teraa husn, magar kya kije
Aur bhi gham hain zamaane meiN mohabbat ke siwa
RaahateiN aur bhi haiN vasl ki raahat ke sivaa

So yeah, love is not my cup of tea. Having said that, I must admit,
"Holy God! What an outrageous liar I am!" LOL. It does not matter how many times I repeat that I do not believe in love, it will always bounce back to me like an echo and remind me what a pathetic liar I am. As funny as it might sound to some, I often try to escape love. I try to run away. But then soon enough I realise that I am running in circles only and so I obviously find myself right where I started- with love- again. Mhm.

However, I must say that love has become a cliché for the commonplace girl/boy loves boy/girl thing. Yes, I said
commonplace and you can take all the offence you want. I don't know. I am not a big fan. Nonetheless, it does not mean I am against love. Oh no, no! It is, indeed, very essential. I am just, well, how should I put it? I am just against some kinds of love. There. Now that was a nice way of putting it. LOL

So anyways, I was saying that I am being a blatant liar when I say that I do not believe in love. Yes, that is true, I am afraid. That is so because I am a lover. An impulsive and compulsive lover. I love a lot of people in a lot of different ways. And I must confess, love hurts. It hurts in places that you did not even know existed inside you. All kinds of love hurt. But, there can be different reasons to the question "why it hurts?"

I know why my love(s) hurts. (I know just about everything, my problems and their solutions, and yet I loiter on the paths of my life wearing my ignorance cloak, listlessly. What to do with such enforced oblivion? What to do?
Arw rightly calls me a "knowledgeable jaahil" ) Love has happened to hurt me often too because I've never succeeded in pulling off the balancing act. I always mess with the balance of things. Hence, the outcomes are pretty much err.. logical. I am way too possessive and it successfully leads me down the abyss of despair. From tiniest things to colossal matters, from my mother to my friends, I am almost always so overbearing. Let me put it in a nutshell. I am a spoiled brat. There, done.

P.S. This is so not what I had in my mind to write about. It is not even anything similar to it. Ugh. I am a spoiled brat and I have a dangerously high tendency to diverge. Period.

Dard Koi Bala Hai Woh Shokh Mizaaj,
Usko Chhe'rra Bura Kiya Tu Ne....
